I’m honored to announce that Dr. Lori Moore-Merrell has joined the Joffe Advisory Board, effective July 1, 2025.
Dr. Moore-Merrell brings unmatched expertise in fire safety, emergency response, and public health. From 2021 to 2025, she served as the U.S. Fire Administrator, where she spearheaded nationally transformative initiatives like the National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS), replacing a 50-year-old legacy system and dramatically modernizing how emergency response data is used and understood.
She also led the launch of the inaugural World Fire Congress in 2024, a landmark global event bringing together top fire officials to forge collaboration across international lines. Her tenure as Administrator was defined by vision, strategy, and a tireless commitment to protecting lives through data, leadership, and innovation.
Before that, Lori was the founding President and CEO of the International Public Safety Data Institute, where she advanced tech-driven insights for first responders. And during her 25+ years at the International Association of Fire Fighters, she broke ground as Chief of Research and Data Analytics—one of the highest-ranking women in the field—where she led mission-critical strategy in a traditionally male-dominated space.
Lori holds a doctorate in Public Health from The George Washington University and has earned accolades across the fire service community for her impact, including the James O. Page Award and the Mason Lankford Award for EMS leadership. She serves on the Boards of XPRIZE Wildfire, Watch Duty, N5 Sensors, and more, driving innovation and resilience in emergency response systems nationwide.
Lori’s leadership, vision, and deep operational experience will be invaluable as we continue to elevate our mission. Please join me in welcoming her to our Advisory Board.
